Validation case

MT Umnenga II — Algoa Bay, May 2022

A real, documented ship-to-ship transfer incident near Brenton Island was used to sanity-check the model: pipe failure during bunkering, 3,000 L spilled at the boundary of the Addo Marine Protected Area.

The known outcome — contained, no beaching, no oiled birds at St Croix or Bird Island — matches what the model predicts: south-westward drift on the Agulhas Current, with the uncertainty envelope clear of the island group.

Good to know

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Billing and cancellation are handled through Creem's secure billing portal, accessible from your Settings once you're subscribed. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Is my incident data private?

Yes. Each account's incidents, forecasts and photos are scoped to that account — nobody else on your team sees your data unless you're on an admin-managed workspace.

Does DriftLogic work offline in the field?

DriftLogic is a PWA — install it to your phone's home screen and it will log incidents offline, syncing automatically once you're back in signal.

What pollutant types are supported?

Low Sulphur RMG 180 (bunker fuel) is the primary, most-tuned profile. Chemical, sewage/waste water and other generic profiles are also available with their own diffusion and weathering behaviour.

How is the coastline and island data licensed?

Coastline and island polygons are derived from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0).
